Refine and hand off an edit
Use editorial assists deliberately, export review media, and verify interchange files before finishing.
Apply editorial assists with a recovery point
Rough cut, Tighten, Cut to beats, and Auto can rebuild or retime the sequence. These actions create an undo snapshot, but they still need a full review. Save a backup first, apply one assist, then inspect clip order, trims, titles, audio sync, and pacing before continuing.
Choose picture settings
Select 480p, 720p, 1080p, social 9:16, or square 1:1, then choose 24 or 30 fps. Social presets crop the exported picture, while the current preview remains widescreen. Frame critical action for the target crop and inspect the final file.
Export a review movie
Export MP4 produces H.264 picture with AAC audio when the preferred browser encoder is supported. Current exports render each crossfade between outgoing and incoming clips. When that path is unavailable, the editor offers a silent, real-time 1280 × 720 WebM fallback. Keep the tab active and review the downloaded movie from start to finish.
Export EDL or OTIO for finishing
EDL carries a simple picture list using media names and timecode conventions. OTIO carries the editorial sequence and references for relinking. Titles, color work, fades, transitions, generated effects, and complete audio treatment are not guaranteed in either handoff. Provide source media and a reference movie with the interchange file.
Verify before delivery
Check first and last frames, duration, frame rate, resolution, crop, audio presence, sync, transitions, and filename. Open EDL or OTIO in the receiving system and resolve offline media. Save a Projects backup after the cut and handoff records are stable.
