Build a dated shoot day, log takes and safety events, then publish reports and editor picks.
Prepare a dated shoot day
Today needs a stripboard with scenes assigned to a shoot date. In Dailies, choose the date and unit that match the call sheet. If no scenes appear, return to Producer, place strips on the correct day, and confirm the schedule date before recording work.
Log setups and takes
Choose + TAKE for the next take or NEW SETUP when camera coverage changes. Record camera, lens, filters, focus, sound notes, timecode, and take notes while the information is available. CIRCLE LAST marks the newest take as a preferred editorial choice. Deleting a take is immediate, so verify the row before removing it.
Keep the live day record
Today combines the scheduled scenes with an actual event log. Record conditions, safety sign-off, and safety incidents, and update progress as scenes move. The event log is the factual record for the daily production report; avoid using informal chat as the only record of a delay, meal, company move, or safety action.
Wrap only after checking gaps
Review incomplete scenes, missing takes, safety entries, and pace before choosing Wrap day. A wrapped day can be reopened if an entry was missed. Schedule learning and downstream summaries may update after the wrap process, so treat a last-minute reopen as a correction and recheck the resulting reports.
Send the day forward
Export camera and sound reports for production records, review the gap list, and choose Send picks to Editor for circled takes. Production Office can generate the daily production report from the logged day. Confirm the report against the call sheet and department notes before circulation.
